Freelance Web Accessibility Specialist Needed for New Project

We are looking for a skilled and knowledgeable Freelance Web Accessibility Specialist to ensure our new project complies with all accessibility standards. This role involves auditing our current web design, making recommendations, and implementing changes to create an inclusive, user-friendly experience for all users, including those with disabilities.

Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive accessibility audits of our website.
Identify and document accessibility issues and recommend solutions.
Implement changes to ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) and other relevant standards.
Collaborate with our design and development teams to integrate accessibility best practices.
Perform usability testing with assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers, keyboard navigation).
Provide training and resources on accessibility to team members as needed.
Stay up-to-date with the latest accessibility trends and legal requirements.
Requirements:

Proven experience in web accessibility and inclusive design.
Strong understanding of WCAG 2.1 guidelines, ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) standards, and other relevant accessibility laws and standards.
Experience using accessibility testing tools (e.g., WAVE, Axe, Lighthouse).
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality work.
Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in web accessibility (e.g., CPACC, WAS, CPWA).
Experience with various assistive technologies.
Knowledge of web development frameworks and content management systems.
Previous experience conducting user testing with individuals with disabilities.
